Improve Sleep and Reduce Stress

Would you like to know how to Improve your sleep and reduce stress ?

Ever hear of magnesium oil?

I know what you’re thinking,  “What the heck is that?

Well, recently one of my massage therapists (Donni) started talking about how she’d been noticing a big difference with her clients since she starting using magnesium oil during her massages. She said that it helps with muscle cramping and relieves pain and is really good for you. It got me intrigued and I dug up some interesting data on magnesium…

Magnesium is vital to the human body. In fact, it is one of the 6 major minerals needed by the body in large amounts (the others are calcium, sodium, potassium, chlorine and phosphorous) Not having enough magnesium can cause:

Anxiety
Restless leg syndrome
Sleep disorders
Nausea
Low blood pressure
Weakness
Obesity
Insomnia
Low testosterone levels
Headache and migraine
Constipation
Fatigue

Well that sucks. According to the World Health Organization 75% of Americans don’t get their recommended daily allowance. And 100 years ago the average person was getting over double (gulp).

Did you know increasing magnesium intake improves thinking and overall body function? It does. More than 300 enzymes in the body require magnesium to work (I had no idea there were even that many enzymes)!

So I started taking a magnesium supplement. I like the powdered form, you just pour hot water, stir and you’re good. I sleep better and my leg cramps disappeared. You can also massage or spray it on your skin, like Donni our massage therapist does. And there’s epsom salt (another form of magnesium) which you can soak in or drink. It tastes pretty nasty but hey, it’s good for you! Magnesium can be found in many foods like dark leafy greens, pumpkin, squash and … dark chocolate. Yes. Another excuse to eat chocolate (you’re welcome)!

Hope that helps.

Love,

Gen
