Retinol Simply Explained… And Something NEW That Really Works!

You may find in many creams and lotions an ingredient called Retinol. Retinol is a form of Vitamin A. It’s called Retinol because it helps make the pigments in the retina of the eye.

If you didn’t know, Vitamin A is good for your skin because it generates cell growth, repairs damaged cells, makes it harder for skin to get clogged, minimizes wrinkles, evens out skin texture, and protects against dryness and redness. You can get Vitamin A from foods like carrots, kale, cantaloupe, and sweet potatoes!

Pevonia recently came out with a product line with the ingredient “Micro-Retinol.” And it works pretty great, I must say.

Before there was Micro-Retinol or Retinol, there was Retin-A. You may have heard of it. It’s a strong medication used originally to treat acne. But then it was discovered to help with wrinkles and skin tone and texture. The thing is, you have to be much more careful when using Retin-A. Your skin will be much more sensitive, and you will have to avoid exposure to sunlight. And you can’t use it on your skin if it’s sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated. To use Retin-A, you actually need a prescription from a doctor.

Before Micro-Retinol, there was Retinol. Retinol is derived from Vitamin A and an enzyme called hydrolase, and it is stabilized with something called parabens (a certain kind of preservative). Parabens are the most widely used preservatives in personal care products and they have been apparently linked to breast cancer. Scientific researchers are saying that parabens may be potentially disrupting our endocrine systems (the whole system of hormones and glands used to regulate the body). So the fact that most retinol products are stabilized with parabens, is not a good sign.

Pevonia’s Micro-Retinol differs from Retinol because it is stabilized with Vitamin C (great for anti-aging) and Vitamin E (helps with healing), it has extra stability and has better absorption than Retinol. Micro-Retinol also makes your skin thicker and fuller, whereas Retin-A over time and extended use makes it thinner. One for one my clients say they see a difference after using it! This Pevonia product is ideal for skin types that are mature, hyper-pigmented, sun-damaged, has fine lines or wrinkles, scarring, dullness, dry or dehydrated skin, and oily. It is not as ideal for sensitive skin types though.

Research has proven that Micro-Retinal repopulated the outside skin layers, normalizes enzymatic activity, increases moisture retention, normalizes skin pigmentation, and counteracts processes that accelerate aging signs. Women will actually notice their existing wrinkles reducing with this product! It is especially beneficial to aging skin. It smoothes wrinkles, strengthens skin elasticity, increases moisture, evens skin tone, provides a radiance and glow, and generally rejuvenates overall skin appearance. Can you tell I’m a fan?

Pevonia’s Micro-Retinol line has a four-step program that will keep your skin looking porcelain-smooth and radiant. I highly recommend it….

  1. You start with pumping a small amount of Micro-Retinol Foaming Cleanser, which will render your skin clean and bright after lathering and cleansing deeply.
  2. Then move on to apply the Micro-Retinol Toner, which is infused with chamomile, aloe, green tea, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. You’ll notice the toner revitalize and hydrate your skin.
  3. Next you use the Micro-Retinol serum, this product is for night use only, and it causes skin to begin intense repairing, and is immediately brightening.
  4. Lastly, you apply the Micro-Retinol moisturizer, a luscious and luxurious cream, which dramatically hydrates your skin. It’s also SPF 8.

You should definitely try this product line. I don’t say that lightly. You’ll notice results you’ve never seen before. I’ve noticed things like… wrinkles being smoothed away, elasticity improved, even pigmentation, and rejuvenated skin. And like I said before, my clients say the same.

Love, Gen
